7–4. The difference between a decorative and interactive fountain program

For decorative fountains, CDC emphasizes sediment and biofilm management, temperature, water retention, and residual disinfection. Monitoring of important parameters is recommended at least weekly, and the condition of the environment or design may require more frequency. Observation of apparent contamination should enable corrective action. CDC Guidelines for Decorative Fountains [446]

For water playgrounds, CDC operational guidelines state the following:

subject

The amount or frequency listed in the guide

pH

7.0 to 7.8

Free chlorine without using cyanuric acid

At least 1 mg/L

Free chlorine if cyanuric acid is used

At least 2 mg/L

Go to the whole system

At least 3 mg/L

Disinfectant and pH control

Before reopening and every 2 to 4 hours during operation

circulation time

30 minutes or less

Equipment performance inspection

Daily before reopening

These values are not the upper limit of the material or the license to use the stabilizer; The approved plan, material limit, manufacturer's order and local authority regulations must be followed simultaneously. Guidelines for the operation of CDC water playgrounds [447]

7–5. Registration of non-compliance

Time to discover

problem

Restriction or suspension imposed

corrective action

Retest result

Permission to reopen

……

……

……

……

……

……

In the event of pollution, the amount and method of correction should be extracted from the approved instructions of the same system. Experimental addition of chemical without measuring and recording is not a water quality control method.
